Aesop Rock, New York’s sensational hip-hop artist, is bringing you his signature rhymes as he, along with fellow rapper Rob Sonic, tour across the nation.

Aesop Rock (birth name Ian Matthias Bavitz) was born in 1976 and got his stage name from a character in a movie he had acted in with his friends. He cites artists such as Public Enemy, BDP, KMD, and Run DMC as his influences and he went on to be at the forefront of the underground and alternative hip hop acts that emerged during the late 1990s and early 2000s. He’s had a stellar career with 6 studio albums, 3 EPs, 10 singles, and many appearances on other artists' tracks.

Rob Sonic (birth name Robert Smith) grew up in the Bronx and as a child was influenced by various genres. He cites The Beatles, Run DMC, Kraftwerk, Talking Heads, Led Zeppelin, Public Enemy, Muddy Waters, Ultramagnetic MC's, and The Clash as his influences. He’s a current member of hip-hop group Hail Mary Mallon.

Don’t miss your chance to see the artists known for their rapid-fire lyrics, stuttering beats, and murky, atmospheric production aesthetic.
