AlunaGeorge is a duo consisting of Aluna Francis (vocals and songwriting) and George Reid (production and instrumentation). The pair first met in June 2009, when George remixed a single (Sweetheart) by Aluna’s band, My Toys Like Me. They cite artists such as Flying Lotus, Destiny's Child, Mariah Carey, James Taylor, and Van Morrison as their inspiration. Their musical style has been described as "advanced minimalistic polyrhythmic beats" as well as "bashment, experimental hip-hop, '90's R&B; and house". They’ve had a stellar career with 1 studio album, 1 remix album, 1 EP, 9 singles, and 8 music videos. Their 2015 single (You Know You Like It feat. DJ Snake) was certified double Platinum in the US and Gold in Australia. They were nominated for BRIT Award in 2013 and came second in the BBC’s Sound of 2013 poll.
