Amber Josephine Liu was born in Los Angeles (California) in 1992 and is a singer, rapper, and songwriter. Her musical style's best described as a blend of K-pop (a modern form of South Korean pop music covering a range of styles and genres incorporated from the West such as Western pop music, rock, jazz, hip hop, R&B;, reggae, electronica, techno, rave, nu metal, folk, country and classical on top of its traditional Korean music roots), Electronic Dance Music a.k.a. EDM (a broad range of percussive electronic music genres - generally produced for playback by DJs who create seamless selections of tracks, called a mix, by segueing from one recording to another - made largely for nightclubs, raves, and festivals), and contemporary R&B; (a genre that combines elements of rhythm and blues, soul, funk, pop, hip hop, and dance). She's best known as member of South Korean girl group f(x) and she started her solo career in 2015 with the release of her debut extended play (a #2 hit on the Korean Gaon Album chart and Billboard's World Albums chart). She went on to have a stellar career with 10 singles and her latest extended play (titled X) comes out in January 2020.
