Aurora, Norway’s sensational electropop and synthpop artist is bringing her signature sounds to Paradise Rock Club!
Aurora Aksnes was born in Stavanger (Norway) in 1996 and is a singer and songwriter. She began her musical journey by writing songs when she was just 10 years old after being influenced by the music of Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan. Eventually she took up music production on an electronic piano she found in her parents’ attic. She released her first track (Puppet) when she was 16 and it was so popular that it led to a record deal. Her music’s dark pop milieu draws parallels with that of artists like Oh Land, Lykke Li, and Lorde. She went on to have a stellar career with 8 single, 1 extended play, and 1 studio album that topped the Norwegian record chart VG-lista and hit #28 on the UK Albums chart. Her extended play won her Norway’s prestigious Spellemannprisen award for newcomer of the year. Her music has been featured on the soundtrack of HBO’s hit TV series Girls and she’s also collaborated with English electronic act Icarus. She’s also starred in 2 short films; 2015’s Into The Light and 2016’s Nothing Is Eternal. Her fan base includes pop star Katy Perry who said Aurora’s sound is “new music that makes my heart a flutter”.
Don’t miss your chance to witness the frosty yet emotive electronic pop from this Norwegian artist!
