Big Thief, New York's sensational indie rock artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Paradise Rock Club!
The band started off as a collaborative project between singer/songwriter and guitarist Adrianne Lenkerbegan along with guitarist Buck Meek. They released 2 extended plays and it wasn't long before they recruited bassist Max Oleartchik and drummer James Krivchenia to turn the project into a band. Their musical style is best described as a blend of indie rock (a genre of alternative rock that originated in the United States and the United Kingdom in the 1980s, encapsulating the genres chamber pop, indie pop, lo fi, math rock, neo psychedelia, post punk revival, sadcore, and shoegaze) and folk rock (a style that arose in the United States and the United Kingdom around the mid 1960s, pioneered by the Los Angeles band the Byrds, who began playing traditional folk music and songs by Bob Dylan with rock instrumentation, in a style heavily influenced by the Beatles and other British bands). The band's debut studio album (Masterpiece) came out in 2016 and was well received by the critics. Their breakthrough came a year later with their second album (Capacity) receiving widespread critical acclaim and appearing on multiple album-of-the-year lists. They've also performed at the South by Southwest Festival.
Don't miss your chance to see the Brooklyn based indie rock quartet steered by the vulnerable songwriting of singer and guitarist Adrianne Lenker!
