Robert Arthur "Bob" Mould was born in 1960 and began his career in 1979 as guitarist and vocalist of alternative rock band Hüsker Dü. After the band broke up in 1988, Bob embarked on the first phase of his solo career with the release of his debut album, Workbook. The album was influential on the alternative rock scene and inspired albums later released by legends R.E.M and Nirvana. In 1992 Bob formed the group sugar and the band released 2 studio albums an EP before breaking up in 1995 after which Bob went back to his solo work.
