Sensational indie pop and electronica duo Broods are bringing their signature sounds to Paradise Rock Club!
Broods is a duo formed in Nelson (New Zealand) in 2013 and is composed siblings Georgia Nott (lead vocals) and multi-instrumentalist Caleb Nott (production and backing vocals). They come from a musical family and as kids they'd join their parents in an ABBA tribute band. In college they were part of the indie rock band The Peasants and after the band split up, they dropped out of college to pursue a career in music. They began collaborating with Joel Little (producer for Lorde’s hit single Royals) whom they met at the Smokefreerockquest music competition in 2011. He suggested Broods as the name for the duo and they liked it as it connected to the brooding nature of their music. They released their debut single (Bridges) in 2013 and it quickly gathered enough attention for them to get a record deal shortly after. They released their debut studio album in 2014 and it hit #1 on the New Zealand charts and was certified Gold. Their new album (Conscious) is scheduled for release on 24 June 2016.
