Circle Jerks, California's sensational hardcore punk artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Paradise Rock Club!
Circle Jerks were formed in Hermosa Beach (California) in 1979 by vocalist Keith Morris (former member of punk rock band Black Flag) and guitarist Greg Hetson (ex-member of alternative rock/punk band Redd Kross). They recruited bassist Roger Rogerson and drummer Lucky Lehrer to complete line-up and went to work on their debut album. The band's been through many line-up changes over the years and it currently consists of Keith (lead vocals), Greg (guitar), and Zander Schloss (bass). Their musical style's best described as hardcore punk; a sub-genre of punk rock that began in the late 1970s and is generally faster, harder, and more aggressive than other forms of punk rock. It generally disavows commercialism, the established music industry, and anything similar to the characteristics of mainstream rock, and often addresses social and political topics with confrontational, politically-charged lyrics. They’ve had a stellar career with 6 studio albums, 2 live albums, 6 singles, 1 video album, and their music's been featured on many compilation albums such as The Decline of Western Civilization, Rodney on the ROQ, Let Them Eat Jellybeans!, and Rat Music for Rat People: Volume 1.
