Classixx was formed in Los Angeles in 2008 and is duo consisting of producer and DJ Michael David and Tyler Blake. They’re childhood friends who started to DJ in the suburbs of LA and derived their name from their love of classic compilations of many genres. Their musical tastes were influenced by genres such as old school R&B;, pop, rock, folk, world, electronic, synthpop, avant-garde, electropop, krautrock, art pop, and progressive pop. They distinguished themselves from the new wave of electronic music in LA with a sound that was a smooth blend of disco, new wave, funk, house, and indie rock. They went on to become even more popular with their remixes of tracks by ground-breaking and diverse artists such as Phoenix, Mayer Hawthorne, Holy Ghost!, Ladyhawke, Fischerspooner, Groove Armada, Yacht, Beni, Drop the Lime, and Major Lazer. They released their debut album (Hanging Gardens) in 2013 and their latest album (Faraway Reach) came out in June 2016. It features collaborations with renowned artists and bands such as Passion Pit, T-Pain, De Lux, Alex Frankel, How to Dress Well, Nonku, Harriet Brown, Isles and Panama
