Daughters, Health, and Show Me The Body are bringing their signature sounds to the Paradise Rock Club!
Daughters was formed in Providence (Rhode Island) in 2002 by singer Alexis Marshall, guitarists Brent Scott Frattini and Nicholas Andrew Sadler, bassist Samuel Morehouse Walker, and drummer Jonathan Syverson. Their musical style's best described as a blend of post-punk (a broad type of rock music that emerged from the punk movement of the 1970s, in which artists departed from the traditional garage rock template of punk to pursue a variety of avant garde sensibilities), grindcore (an extreme genre of music - originating in the early to mid 1980s and drawing inspiration from the most abrasive sounding musical styles such as hardcore punk, extreme metal, industrial and noise rock - characterized by a noise filled sound that uses heavily distorted, down tuned guitars, grinding overdriven bass, high speed tempo, blast beats, and vocals which consist of growls and high pitched shrieks), and noise rock (style of experimental rock - rooted in noise music - that uses the traditional instrumentation and iconography of rock music, but incorporates atonality and especially dissonance, and frequently discards typical songwriting conventions). They’ve had a stellar career with 4 studio albums, 1 live album, 1 extended play, 4 singles, and 3 music videos.
