Dave East, New York’s sensational hip hop artist is bringing his signature rhymes to Paradise Rock Club!
Dave East (birth name David Brewster Jr.) was born in East Harlem in 1988 and is of Bajan and Dominican descent. As a child he loved to play basketball but he had a deeper passion for poetry and writing rhymes. After finishing high school, he went on to play in the Amateur Athletic Union (with then-future NBA players Ty Lawson, Greivis Vasquez and Kevin Durant) and was also sought after by the NBA. He decided to pursue a career in music and released his debut mixtape in 2010. It didn’t get much attention but that didn’t discourage Dave and he kept honing his craft, releasing 5 more mixtapes (Insomnia, American Greed, Don't Sleep, No Regrets, and Gemini) over the next 4 years. The hard work paid off when his work made its way to hip hop recording artist, record producer, actor, and entrepreneur Nas. He signed Dave onto his record label (Mass Appeal Records) and released his 7th mixtape (Black Rose) under it. It was well received by the critics and finally brought him mainstream recognition. He’s released 3 more mixtapes (Straight Outta Harlem, Hate Me Now, and Kairi Chanel) and an extended play (Born Broke, Die Rich).
