Dispatch, Vermont’s sensational indie/roots artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Paradise Rock Club!
The band was formed in Middlebury (Vermont) in 1996 by Brad Corrigan (vocals, drums, guitar, percussion, and harmonica), Pete Francis Heimbold (vocals, bass, and guitar), and Chad Urmston (vocals, guitar, bass, and percussion). Their musical style is best described as a blend of indie folk (a style that arose in the 1990s - among musicians from indie rock scenes influenced by folk music - and is characterized by a blend of acoustic guitar melodies of traditional folk music with contemporary instrumentation), roots rock (a subgenre of rock music that takes inspiration from various American musical traditions such as country, blues, and folk), reggae fusion, rap rock, and ska (a genre that combines elements of Caribbean mento and calypso with American jazz and rhythm and blues, and is also characterized by a walking bass line accented with rhythms on the off beat). They’re a politically expressive band and they’ve held many benefit concerts (most notably, The Relief Project; an organization of musicians who want to deliver aid to communities in need). They’ve had a stellar career with 5 studio albums, 2 extended plays, 4 live albums, 4 video albums, and they’ve performed at major events such as Bonnaroo, Hangout Festival, and Outside Lands.
Don’t miss your chance to see the artists with their college friendly blend of indie folk and reggae/ska infused grooves!
