Earl Sweatshirt, Illinois' sensational alternative hip hop artist is bringing his signature sounds to the Paradise Rock Club!

Earl Sweatshirt (birth name Thebe Neruda Kgositsile) was born in Chicago (Illinois) in 1994 and is a rapper, lyricist, and record producer. His musical style is best described as a blend of alternative hip hop (a style that encompasses the wide range of hip hop styles that aren’t mainstream and draws from funk and rock, as well as jazz, soul, country, electronic, and even folk music) and horrorcore (a sub genre of hip hop music based on horror-themed and often darkly transgressive lyrical content and imagery). He cites MF Doom, RZA, Radiohead, James Pants, Jay-Z, Cam’ron, and Eminem as his main influences. He’s had a stellar career with 3 studio albums (all top 10 hits on Billboard's Top R&B;/Hip Hop Albums chart), 1 split album (with alternative rap collective Odd Future), 6 singles, 2 mix tapes, an MTVU Woodie Award, a BET Hip Hop Award nomination (for Rookie of the Year), and a Grammy Award nomination (for Album of the Year). He's collaborated with Domo Genesis, Alchemist, Frank Ocean, Boldy James, Da$H, Tyler, the Creator, Casey Veggies, Vince Staples, Navy Blue, Action Bronson, Kendrick Lamar, and many other renowned artists.
