Epik High, South Korea's sensational alternative hip hop artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Paradise Rock Club!
Epik High was formed in Seoul (South Korea) in 2001 by Tablo (birth name Daniel Armand Lee a.k.a Lee Seon-woong), Mithra Jin (birth name Choi Jin), and DJ Tukutz (a.k.a Street T, born Kim Jeong-Shik). Their musical style is best described as a blend of alternative hip hop (a style that encompasses the wide range of hip hop styles that aren’t mainstream and draws from funk and rock, as well as jazz, soul, country, electronic, and even folk music) and pop rap (a genre that fuses the rhythm based lyricism of hip hop music with pop music's preference for melodious vocals, catchy choruses, and lyrics that are often light hearted). They’ve had a stellar career with 10 studio albums, 1 remix album, 1 compilation album, 2 extended plays, 2 special release albums, 18 singles, 12 music videos, and they're the second Korean act to perform at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. Their last 3 albums were top 13 hits on both the Gaon Music Chart (the South Korea national chart, similar to the US' Billboard charts) and Billboard's World Albums chart. They've received many accolades including 3 Seoul Music Awards.
