FIDLAR, California’s sensational skate punk and garage punk artists are bringing their signature sounds to Paradise Rock Club!
The band was formed in L.A in 2009 and is composed of Zac Carper (rhythm guitar, vocals), Brandon Schwartzel (bass, backing vocals), Elvis Kuehn (lead guitar, vocals), and Max Kuehn (drums). The band’s name is short-form of ‘F**k It Dog, Life's a Risk’; a mantra coined by skateboarders of the streets of L.A. The band was founded by Zac and Elvis; they used to work together at a recording studio as an engineer and an intern respectively. They’d record songs when the studio was not in use and then post their recordings online. The band cites Southern California punk rockers like The Offspring and Blink-182 as their main influences and they began making videos to promote their work online. The hard work paid off with the band getting a record deal with Mom + Pop Music (an independent record label based in New York) in 2012. They released their eponymous debut album in 2013 and it entered Billboard’s Heatseekers chart at #5. They went on a worldwide tour in support of the album and performed with renowned bands like the Pixies, the Hives, Black Lips, and Wavves. Their follow-up album (Too) came out in 2015 and topped the Heatseeker’s chart.
