Honne, England’s sensational electronic and soul music artists are bringing their signature sounds to Paradise Rock Club!
Honne was formed in London in 2014 and it’s a duo consisting of James Hatcher (production) and Andy Clutterbuck (vocals, production). They met at university in late 2014 and started making music just a few days later. Their name comes from the Japanese concept of ‘true feelings’ or ‘real intention’ and their musical style is quite unique with its blend of soul with synth pop. Andy said in an interview, “We were learning stuff on the way, when we started writing for HONNE, spending the time really working out what we wanted to do; eventually we found something that was very special. You know… a sound. From that time, we put our sounds together and we had our palette and started writing songs with those sounds.” They were influenced by soul musicians such as Al Green, Bill Withers, and their sound also draws parallels with that of Quincy Jones and Michael Jackson. When they perform live, the duo is also joined by Naomi Scarlett (backing vocals), Duayne Sanford aka DS DrummerBoi (drums), Amadu Koroma (bass guitar), and Johnny Silveira (FOH engineering). They’ve had a stellar career with 5 extended plays and their debut studio album (Warm on a Cold Night) hit #37 on the UK Albums chart.
