James Vincent McMorrow, Ireland’s sensational folk music artist is bringing his signature sounds to Paradise Rock Club!

James Vincent McMorrow was born in Dublin (Ireland) in 1983 and is a folk singer and songwriter. He began his musical journey when he was in his teens by taking an interest in drumming. Initially he took a liking to the harsher sounds of bands like At the Drive-In, Refused, and Glassjaw but in college his tastes changed to the more acoustic based sounds of Sufjan Stevens and Band of Horses. When he was 19, he decided to learn to play the guitar after hearing the song ‘I Love You More Than You Will Ever Know’ by American jazz, blues, soul and gospel singer, songwriter, arranger and pianist Donny Hathaway. James was influenced by the singers and songwriters of the 70s and he began writing songs and developing his unique performance style. Eventually he started to play in local pubs and his performances were always well received. He’s had a stellar career with 2 studio albums, 3 extended plays, and 2 singles. His debut studio album (Early in the Morning) hit #22 on the Irish music charts while his follow up album (Post Tropical) peaked at #2. The former was also popular internationally and in 2012, James received a European Border Breakers Award in recognition of its success.
