Jessica Lois Ware was born in Hammersmith (London, England) in 1984 and is a singer and songwriter. She began her musical journey as a back up vocalist for fellow English musician Jack Peñate. She said in an interview, "Performing with him was really good training, because I got to learn all about how other people do it – I was able to perform live without the pressure of being a lead singer." Her musical style is best described as a blend of adult contemporary R&B; (a form of post soul R&B; - based on the more refined strains of '70s soul, such as smooth soul, Philly soul, and quiet storm - that places equal emphasis on songcraft and sophistication) and sophisti-pop (a sub genre of pop music that incorporates elements of jazz, soul and pop and often makes extensive use of electronic keyboards, synthesizers and polished arrangements, particularly horn sections).
