Killing Joke, England's sensational post-punk/industrial artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Paradise Rock Club!
Killing Joke was formed in Notting Hill (London, England) in 1978 by Jaz Coleman (vocals and keyboards), Paul Ferguson (drums), Geordie Walker (guitar), and Martin Glover a.k.a Youth (bass). Over the years, their musical style has spanned many genres such as post punk (a broad type of rock music that emerged from the punk movement of the 1970s, in which artists departed from the traditional garage rock template of punk to pursue a variety of avant garde sensibilities), industrial (a genre of experimental music that uses transgressive or provocative sounds and themes and is an abrasive and aggressive fusion of rock and electronic music), industrial metal (a fusion of heavy metal music and industrial music - pioneered by acts such as Ministry, Godflesh, KMFDM, Oomph!, Static-X, and Rammstein - typically employing repeating metal guitar riffs, sampling, synthesizer or sequencer lines, and distorted vocals), and new wave (a genre of rock music that moved away from smooth blues and rock and roll sounds to create pop music that incorporated electronic and experimental music, mod, and disco). They’ve had a stellar career with 15 studio albums, 8 live albums, 16 compilation albums, 5 extended plays, 31 singles, 15 music videos, and 4 video albums.
Don't miss your chance to see the unique and subversive English band that straddled post punk and industrial, eventually racking up a long, influential career!
