Léon, Sweden's sensational indie pop artist is bringing her signature sounds to the Paradise Rock Club!
Léon (birth name Lotta Lindgren) was born in Stockholm (Sweden) in 1993 and is a singer and songwriter. She was introduced to music at an early age by her parents (her father is a composer/conductor and her mother is a cellist) and she started singing when she was just 3 years old. In her teens, she became the lead vocalist of a hip-hop/soul group and it wasn't long before she started her solo career. Her musical style is best described as a blend of indie pop (a sub genre of alternative/indie rock originating in the United Kingdom in the late 1970s and differing from indie rock to the extent that it’s more melodic, less abrasive, and relatively angst free) and soul (a genre - emerging from African-American community in the United States in the late 1950s and early 1960s - that combines elements of African-American gospel music, rhythm and blues and jazz). She cites Amy Winehouse, Janis Joplin, Beyoncé, Etta James, Sam Cooke, and Stevie Wonder as her main influences. She’s had a stellar career with 1 studio album (a #58 on the official Swedish record chart), 4 extended plays, and 11 singles.
