Lettuce, Massachusetts’ sensational funk and jazz artists are bringing their signature sounds to Paradise Rock Club!
The band was formed in Boston in 1992 by Erick “E.D.” Coomes (bass), Adam Deitch (drums and percussion), Eric Krasno (guitar), Adam “Shmeeans” Smirnoff (guitar), Ryan Zoidis (alto sax, bari sax, and tenor sax), and Sam Kininger (alto sax and tenor sax). They were influenced by various funk bands such as Herbie Hancock, Earth, Wind and Fire, Tower of Power, and they started performing at various local jazz clubs. The band’s name comes from them asking club owners if they would “let us play.” The band’s been through many line up changes and it currently consists of E.D, Adam, Neal Evans (keys, hammond B-3 organ, piano), Eric, Shmeeans, Ryan, and Eric “Benny” Bloom (trumpet). They’ve had a stellar career with 5 studio albums, 1 live album, and they’re well known for their energetic live shows.
