Lil Tjay, New York's sensational hip hop artist is bringing his signature sounds to the Paradise Rock Club!
Lil Tjay (birth name Tione Dalyan Merritt) was born in the Bronx (New York) in 2001 and is a rapper, singer, and songwriter. While his musical style can be broadly classified as hip hop, it's best described as a blend of East Coast rap (a style that originated in the New York City area during the 1970s - prioritizing complex lyrics for attentive listening rather than beats for dancing - and only became a distinct subgenre after artists from other regions of the United States emerged with different styles), hardcore rap (a genre characterized by confrontation and aggression, whether in the lyrical subject matter, the hard, driving beats, the noisy sampling and production, or any combination thereof), and underground rap (a label used to refer to rappers who are brazenly anti commercial and/or proudly independent, indifferent to the exposure promised by major label promotion and distribution). He’s had a stellar career with 1 studio album (a #5 hit on the US Billboard 200 chart), 2 extended plays, 11 singles (one of which's been certified Gold in the US), and he's collaborated with many renowned artists such as Tory Lanez, Polo G, French Montana, Blueface, and PrettyMuch.
