Local Natives, California's sensational indie rock artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Paradise Rock Club!

Local Natives was formed in 2005 in Silver Lake (Los Angeles) by high school friends Kelcey Ayer, Ryan Hahn, and Taylor Rice. They later recruited Andy Hamm and Matt Frazier to complete the line-up and began to work on their debut album (Gorilla Manor) in 2008. The album was self-funded and was generally well received by the critics. It was named after the Orange County house they lived in at the time and it entered Billboard’s New Artist chart at #3. Their musical style blends indie rock with indie pop and it's been described as “afropop-influenced guitars with hyperactive drumming and hooky three-part harmonies.” There was a line-up change in 2011 and the band currently consists of Taylor Rice (guitar and vocals), Kelcey Ayer (vocals, keyboards, percussion, and guitar), Ryan Hahn (guitar, keyboards, mandolin, and vocals), Matt Frazier (drums), and Nik Ewing (bass). Their second album (Hummingbird) came out in 2013 and was also critically acclaimed. It hit #12 on the US Billboard 200 and one of its tracks (Mt. Washington) was featured in the 2015 video game Life Is Strange. They went on to have a stellar career with 19 singles, another studio album, and their latest one (Violent Street) comes out in April 2019.
