Los Amigos Invisibles & Aterciopelados

10th April 2020 - Friday 20:00

Sensational Latin dance/rock bands Los Amigos Invisibles and Aterciopelados are bringing their signature sounds to the Paradise Rock Club!

Los Amigos Invisibles was formed in Caracas (Venezuela) in 1991 by Julio Briceño (vocals), José Luis Pardo (guitar and songwriting), Armando Figueredo (keyboards), Mauricio Arcas (raps), José Rafael Torres (bass), and Juan Manuel Roura (drums). Their musical style is best described as a blend of dance rock (a genre – originating in the early 1980s, following the mainstream death of punk and disco – related to pop rock and post punk but with fewer rhythm and blues influences), acid jazz (a genre - also known as club jazz - that combines elements of jazz, soul, funk, and disco), funk (a genre that originated in the mid 1960s when African American musicians created a rhythmic, danceable new form of music through a mixture of soul music, jazz, and rhythm and blues), and disco (a musical style - originating in the early 1970s as a reaction against both the domination of rock music and the stigmatization of dance music by the counterculture during this period - that remained largely underground until the mid 70s when it began to emerge from America's urban nightlife scene). They've had a stellar career with 12 studio albums.
