Machine Head, California's sensational heavy metal artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Paradise Rock Club!
Machine Head was formed in Oakland in 1991 by vocalist/guitarist Robb Flynn and bassist Adam Duce. The band's been through many line up changes since then and it currently consists of Robb (lead vocals and guitar), Phil Demmel (guitar and backing vocals), Jared MacEachern (bass and backing vocals), and Dave McClain (drums and percussion). Their musical style is best described as a blend of heavy metal (a subgenre of rock that developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s and features a thick, massive sound, characterized by highly amplified distortion, extended guitar solos, emphatic beats, and overall loudness), progressive metal (a fusion of heavy metal and progressive rock that combines the loud aggression and amplified guitar driven sound of the former with the more experimental, cerebral or pseudo classical compositions of the latter), and death metal (an extreme subgenre of heavy metal music, typically employing heavily distorted and low-tuned guitars, played with techniques such as palm muting and tremolo picking, deep growling vocals and screams, and aggressive and powerful drumming featuring double kick or blast beat techniques). They’ve had a stellar career with 8 studio albums, 2 live albums, 1 extended play, singles, 15 music videos, 1 video album, and 13 singles. Their latest album (Catharsis) comes out in January 2018.
