Sensational crossover thrash and stoner metal bands Municipal Waste and High On Fire are bringing their signature sounds to the Paradise Rock Club!
Municipal Waste was formed in Richmond (Virginia) in 2001 by vocalist Tony Foresta, guitarist Ryan Waste, bassist Andy Harris, and percussionist Brendan Trache). The band's been through a few line up changes over the years and it currently consists of Tony (lead vocals), Ryan (guitar), Philip "Landphil" Hall (bass and backing vocals), Dave Witte (drums and percussion), and Nick "Nikropolis" Poulos (guitar). Their musical style is best described as a crossover thrash; a fusion of thrash metal (an extreme sub-genre of heavy metal music characterized by its fast tempo and overall aggression, frequent use of fast percussive beats and low register guitar riffs, overlaid with shredding style lead work, and lyrics often dealing with social issues and reproach for The Establishment) and hardcore punk (a sub-genre of punk rock that began in the late 1970s and is generally faster, harder, and more aggressive than other forms of punk rock). They cite Suicidal Tendencies, Dirty Rotten Imbeciles, Nuclear Assault, and Anthrax as their main influences. They've had a stellar career with 6 studio albums, 3 extended plays, 3 split albums (with Crucial Unit, Bad Acid Trip, and Toxic Holocaust), 10 music videos, and they've toured with Suicidal Tendencies, Destruction, Darkest Hour, Toxic Holocaust, and Repulsion..
Don't miss your chance to see these artists add a unique touch to crossover thrash music!
