Nahko and Medicine For The People, Portland’s sensational world music artists, are bringing you their signature sounds as they tour venues across the world.
The group was formed in 2008 by Nahkohe Parayno (Nahko Bear), a 6th generation Apache/Mohawk native with a Puerto Rican/Indian mother and a Filipino father. The collective is composed of Justin Chittams (drums), Chase Makai (lead guitarist), Hope Medford (hand percussion and rhythms) and Patricio Zuñiga Labarca (bass guitar). Their debut album (Dark as Night) hit #4 on the Billboard Top Alternative Albums chart in 2013.
