New Politics were formed in Copenhagen (Denmark) in 2009 and they currently consist of David Boyd, Søren Hansen, and Louis Vecchio. Their musical style's best described as a blend of alternative rock (a style of rock music that emerged from the independent music underground of the 1980s and became widely popular in the 1990s), pop rock (a genre that originated in the 1950s, influenced by the beat, arrangements, and style of rock and roll but with a greater emphasis on professional songwriting and recording craft), dance rock (a genre – originating in the early 1980s, following the mainstream death of punk and disco – related to pop rock and post punk but with fewer rhythm and blues influences), and pop punk (a fusion genre that typically combines fast punk rock tempos, power chord changes and loud, distorted electric guitars with pop influenced melodies and lyrical themes). They've had a stellar career with 4 studio albums (2 of which were top 10 hits on Billboard's Heatseekers Albums chart), 11 singles, and 10 music videos. Their latest album (An Invitation to an Alternate Reality) comes out on 1st November 2019.
