Palaye Royale, Canada's sensational indie rock artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Paradise Rock Club!
Palaye Royale was formed (under the moniker Kropp Circle) in Toronto (Canada) in 2008 by Remington Leith (lead vocals), Sebastian Danzig (guitar and keys), and Emerson Barrett (drums and piano). While their musical style can be broadly classified as indie rock (a genre of alternative rock that originated in the United States and the United Kingdom in the 1980s, encapsulating the genres chamber pop, indie pop, lo fi, math rock, neo psychedelia, post punk revival, sadcore, and shoegaze), it's best described as a blend of glam rock (a style of rock and pop music that was developed in the United Kingdom in the early 1970s by musicians who wore outrageous costumes, makeup, and hairstyles, particularly platform shoes and glitter) and art rock (a sub genre of rock music that generally reflects a challenging or avant-garde approach to rock, and is often distinguished by the use of electronic effects and easy listening textures far removed from the propulsive rhythms of early rock). They cite The Animals, The Faces, Small Faces, The Rolling Stones, The Doors, David Bowie, T. Rex, The Velvet Underground and classical music as their main influences. They’ve had a stellar career with 2 studio albums, 2 extended plays, and 3 singles.
