Panda Bear (birth name Noah Benjamin Lennox) was born in Charlottesville (Virginia) in 1978 and is a singer, songwriter, and multi instrumentalist (drums, percussion, sampler, guitar, and synthesizer). His musical style is best described as a blend of indie rock (a genre of alternative rock that originated in the United States and the United Kingdom in the 1980s, encapsulating the genres chamber pop, indie pop, lo fi, math rock, neo psychedelia, post punk revival, sadcore, and shoegaze), post rock (a form of experimental rock characterized by the influence and use of instruments commonly associated with rock music, but using rhythms not traditionally found in it), and indie electronic (a sub genre of alternative/indie rock with affinity for electronic music, using samplers, synthesizers, drum machines, and computer programs). He's best known as one of the founding members of the experimental pop band Animal Collective and he's also had a stellar solo career with 7 studio albums (2 of which were top 5 hits on Billboard's Independent Albums chart), 3 extended plays, and 10 singles. He's also collaborated with Daft Punk, Teengirl Fantasy, Pantha du Prince, Atlas Sound, Taken by Trees, and many other renowned artists.
