Polyphia, Texas’ sensational instrumental progressive metal artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Paradise Rock Club!
The band was formed in Dallas in 2010 by Timothy Henson, Scott LePage, Brandon Burkhalter, and Lane Duskin. There have been a few line up changes since then and it currently consists of Tim (lead guitar), Scott LePage (rhythm guitar), Clay Gober (bass), and Clay Aeschliman (drums). Their musical style can be best described as a blend of progressive metal (a fusion genre melding heavy metal and progressive rock which combines the loud aggression and amplified guitar driven sound of the former with the more experimental, cerebral or pseudo classical compositions of the latter), djent (a style of progressive metal named for an onomatopoeia for the distinctive high gain, distorted, palm muted, low pitch guitar sound first employed by bands Meshuggah and SikTh), art rock (a subgenre of rock music that generally reflects a challenging or avant garde approach to rock, or which makes use of modernist, experimental, or unconventional elements), instrumental rock, and electronica. They’ve had a stellar career with 2 studio albums, 1 extended play, 1 demo, and they’ve gone on several national tours sharing the stage with the likes of progressive metal giants such as Periphery, Between the Buried and Me, and August Burns Red.
Don’t miss your chance to see these artists add a unique touch to instrumental progressive metal!
