Real Friends, llinois’ sensational pop punk artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Paradise Rock Club!
The band was formed in Tinley Park (Illinois) in 2010 by Kyle Fasel (bass guitar), Dave Knox (lead guitar and backing vocals), Dan Lambton (lead vocals), and drummer Aaron Schuck (later replaced by Brian Blake). They recorded their debut extended play (This Is Honesty) in 2011 and recruited rhythm guitarist Eric Haines to complete the line up. Their musical style can be best described as a blend of pop punk (a fusion genre that typically combines fast punk rock tempos, power chord changes and loud, distorted electric guitars with pop influenced melodies and lyrical themes) and emo (a loosely categorized rock music genre characterized by expressive and often confessional lyrics). They cite American Football, Dashboard Confessional, The Early November, Jimmy Eat World, The Promise Ring, Saves the Day, The Starting Line, Spitalfield, Taking Back Sunday and Thursday as their main influences. The started to get mainstream recognition after releasing 4 more extended plays and landed a record deal in December 2013. They released their debut studio album (Maybe This Place Is the Same and We're Just Changing) in 2014 and it hit #24 on the US Billboard 200 chart. They’ve had a stellar career with 2 studio albums, 1 compilation album, 6 extended plays, 9 music videos, and 9 singles.
