Rubblebucket, New York’s sensational indie and dance music artists are bringing their signature sounds to Paradise Rock Club!

The band was formed by musical couple Alex Toth (trumpet) and Kalmia Traver (vocals, saxophone). They first met at the University of Vermont (where they were studying music) and they started their musical journey in 2006 by joining the reggae group John Brown's Body. They left the band a year later, formed Rubblebucket, and released their debut studio album Rose's Dream (under the moniker Rubblebucket Orchestra) in 2008. The band’s been through a few line up changes over the years and it currently consists of Kalmia (lead vocals, tenor and baritone saxophones, flute), Alex (trumpet, backing vocals, flute, percussion, bandleader), Adam Dotson (trombone, backing vocals, flute, keyboards), and Ian Hersey (guitar, backing vocals). When on tour, the line up also includes David Cole (drums), Daniel McDowell (bass), and Jacob Bergson (keyboards). Their musical style falls under the genres of indie pop, neo-psychedelia, and alternative dance. They’ve had a stellar career with 7 studio albums and in 2009 they won a Boston Music Award for Live Act of the Year. They’ve also performed at many renowned events such as High Sierra Music Festival, All Good Music Festival, and the Liberate Music and Dance Festival.

Don’t miss your chance to see the spirited indie pop dance band with a reggae pop past and a penchant for world beats and ska infused arrangements!
