Sabrina Claudio was born in Miami in 1996 and is a singer, and songwriter. She grew up listening to salsa and merengue and it wasn't long before she was drawn to contemporary R&B; (a genre - also known as alternative R&B; - that combines elements of rhythm and blues, soul, funk, pop, hip hop, and dance). She also includes jazz and bossa nova (a genre of Brazilian music – developed in the 1950s and 1960s – featuring the classical guitar, drums and percussion, along with lyrical themes of women, love, longing, homesickness, and nature) as her influences and she began her musical journey by cover videos on YouTube and Twitter. Her breakthrough came when her cover of Frank Ocean's 2012 single Super Rich Kids went viral and she released her debut extended play (Confidently Lost) in early 2017. She’s had a stellar career with 1 studio album, 1 mix tape (a #13 hit on Billboard's Top R&B; Albums chart), 2 extended plays, 7 singles, 6 music videos, and she's collaborated with fellow R&B; artists Sad Money, Khalid, and rapper Duckwrth. Her music has also been featured on the soundtrack of the 2018 American erotic romantic drama film Fifty Shades Freed.
