SafetySuit, Oklahoma’s sensational alternative rock and pop rock artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Paradise Rock Club!
The band was formed in Tulsa (Oklahoma) in 2002 by singer Doug Brown, drummer Tate Cunningham, bassist Jeremey Henshaw, and guitar players Curtis Lloyd and Jesse Carey. They were students at Oral Roberts University and the band was initially named Crew. They started to make a name for themselves in Tulsa after winning a local battle of the bands contest and they released their debut extended play (Day After Yesterday) shortly thereafter. They honed their craft over the next few years, went through a line up change, and moved to Nashville. In 2005, they released another extended play (titled Stay) and it wasn’t before they got a recording contract with Universal Music Group. They changed their name to SafetySuit shortly afterwards to avoid legal troubles in the future. With a line up consisting of Doug (vocals and rhythm guitar), Dave Garofalo (guitar), Jeremy (bass), and Tate drums (2002), they released their debut studio album (Life Left to Go) in 2008 and it hit #5 on Billboard’s Top Heatseekers Albums chart. They went on to have a stellar career with 2 more studio albums, another extended play, 8 singles, 1 promotional single, and 7 music videos.
