Sango, Colorado’s sensational electronic music artist is bringing his signature sounds to the Paradise Rock Club!
Sango (birth name Kai Asa Savon Wright) was born in Bremerton (Washington) in 1991 and is a DJ and record producer. Born to musician parents, he moved to Grand Rapids (Michigan) when he was 9 years old and went on to get a bachelor of fine arts degree in graphic design. He was introduced to music by his mother and he learned rhythm, creativity, and beats from his grandfather (who played the congas from a very early age). While his musical style can broadly be classified as electronic, it also includes elements of various other genres such as hip hop, R&B;, and dance music. He said in an interview, “I have a really strong Hip Hop Base. I grew up listening to Timbaland, Aaliyah, Pharrell and Lauryn Hill. There’s actually a Portuguese group I really mess with named Buraka Som Sistema that really got me back to making more “worldly” sounds.” He’s had a stellar career with 2 studio albums, 11 extended plays, 1 mix tape, and he’s also produced for alternative R&B; and pop singer Tinashe as well as R&B; and hip hop artist Bryson Tiller. He’s also a member of AGO (pronounced as individual letters); a team of Michigan based rappers, singers and producers.
