Sleigh Bells, New York’s sensational noise pop artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Paradise Rock Club!
Sleigh Bells was formed in Brooklyn in 2008 and is a duo consisting of vocalist Alexis Krauss and guitarist Derek Edward Miller. Their musical style is unique in that it juxtaposes simple pop hooks with loud, rhythmic noise, electronic beats, harsh guitar riffs and dreamy vocals. It can be best described as a blend of experimental pop (a genre that attempts to push the boundaries of existing pop music by incorporating experimental techniques such as musique concrète, aleatoric music, eclecticism, and electronic production effects) and noise pop (a subgenre of alternative rock - developed in the mid 1980s in the UK and US - that mixes dissonant noise or feedback, or both, with the melodic instrumentation and production elements more often found in pop music, making it more melodic than noise rock). They’ve had a stellar career with 4 studio albums, 1 extended play, 8 singles, and 10 music videos. They’ve performed at many renowned events such as the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, the Primavera Sound Festival, and the Pitchfork Music Festival. Their music has also been featured in films (Pain and Gain, The Bling Ring), TV shows (Gossip Girl, The Good Wife), and video games (Guitar Hero Live).
Don’t miss your chance to see these artists add a unique touch to experimental pop and noise pop music!
