Slowdive, England's sensational indie rock artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Paradise Rock Club!
Slowdive was formed in Reading (Berkshire, England) in 1989 by Neil Halstead and Rachel Goswell. The band's been through a few line up changes over the years and it currently consists of Neil (vocals, guitar, and keyboards), Rachel (vocals, guitar, and tambourine), Nick Chaplin (bass), Christian Savill (guitar), and Simon Scott (drums). Their musical style is best described as a blend of indie rock (a genre of alternative rock that originated in the United States and the United Kingdom in the 1980s, encapsulating the genres chamber pop, indie pop, lo fi, math rock, neo psychedelia, post punk revival, sadcore, and shoegaze), dream pop (a subgenre of alternative rock and neo psychedelia characterized by breathy vocals, introspective or existential lyrics, and a focus on textures and moods rather than propulsive rock riffs), shoegaze (a subgenre of indie rock and neo psychedelia, characterized by the blurring of component musical parts—typically significant guitar distortion, feedback and obscured vocals—into indistinguishable mixtures of sound), and ambient (a style of gentle, largely electronic instrumental music with no persistent beat, used to create or enhance a mood or atmosphere). They’ve had a stellar career with 4 studio albums, 3 compilation albums, 5 extended plays, 5 singles, and 3 music videos.
Don’t miss your chance to see the distinctive indie rockers who employ atmospheric harmonies, rippling processed guitars, and an ambient production sensibility!
