Smallpools, California’s sensational indie rock and pop artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Paradise Rock Club
The band was formed in Los Angeles in 2013 and it currently consists of Sean Scanlon (lead vocals, synthesizer, keyboards, and piano), Michael "Mike" Kamerman (guitar and vocals), and Beau Kuther (drums and vocals). Their musical style is best described as a blend of indie rock (a genre of alternative rock that originated in the United States and the United Kingdom in the 1980s, encapsulating the genres chamber pop, indie pop, lo fi, math rock, neo psychedelia, post punk revival, sadcore, and shoegazing), indie pop (a subgenre of alternative/indie rock originating in the United Kingdom in the late 1970s and differing from indie rock to the extent that it’s more melodic, less abrasive, and relatively angst free), and alternative dance (a genre that blends the melodic song structure of alternative and indie rock with electronic beats, synths and/or samples, and club orientation of post disco dance music). They’ve had a stellar career with 1 studio album, 1 extended play, 5 singles, and they’ve been the opening act for many renowned bands including Two Door Cinema Club, Walk the Moon, Neon Trees, Misterwives, San Cisco, and Twenty One Pilots. They’ve also performed at the 2014 Lollapalooza festival.
