Sensational rock bands Soul Asylum and Local H are bringing their signature sounds to the Paradise Rock Club!

Soul Asylum were formed (under the moniker Loud Fast Rules) in Minneapolis in 1981. The band' been through many line-up changes since then and it currently consists of Dave Pirner (lead vocals and rhythm guitar), Michael Bland (drums), Winston Roye (bass), Ryan Smith (lead guitar and backing vocals). Over the years, their musical style's spanned many genres such as alternative rock, hard rock, and adult alternative pop/rock (a branch of alternative rock - emerging after the genre's absorption into the mainstream – featuring a smooth, melodic, radio friendly style that packages alternative's mellower side for wider consumption). The band released 5 studio albums between 1984 and 1990 but it wasn’t until their 6th album (Grave Dancers Union) in 1992 that they achieved mainstream commercial success. The album topped the Billboard Heat Seekers chart, hit # 11 on the US Billboard 200 chart, and achieved triple Platinum status just 1 year after its release. It also featured the single (Runaway Train) that earned the band a 1994 Grammy Award for Best Rock Song. They got further recognition when they performed at Bill Clinton's inauguration ceremony and their 1995 album (Let Your Dim Light Shine) also went on to achieve Platinum status.
