Soulive, New York's sensational soul jazz artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Paradise Rock Club!

Soulive was formed in Buffalo (New York) in 1999 by brothers Alan and Neal Evans (on drums and Hammond B-3 organ, respectively) along with Eric Krasno on guitar. Their musical style's best described as a blend of soul jazz (a style of jazz with strong influences from blues, soul, gospel, and rhythm and blues), jazz funk (a sub-genre of jazz music characterized by a strong back beat/groove, electrified sounds, and an early prevalence of analog synthesizers), jazz fusion (a genre that developed in the late 1960s when musicians combined aspects of jazz harmony and improvisation with styles such as funk, rock, rhythm and blues, and Latin jazz), acid jazz (a genre - also known as club jazz - that combines elements of jazz, soul, funk, and disco). They’ve had a stellar career with 7 studio albums, 3 live albums, 1 remix album, 1 compilation album, 2 extended plays, 1 split album (with renowned funk and jazz saxophonist, flutist and vocalist, Karl Denson), and they've performed with Questlove, Marco Benevento, Anders Osborne, Derek Trucks, Robert Randolph, John Scofield, Susan Tedeschi, Talib Kweli, The London Souls, Lettuce, and many other renowned bands/artists.
