Tesseract, England's sensational progressive metal artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Paradise Rock Club!
Tesseract (often stylized as TesseracT) started off in Milton Keynes (England) in 2003 as a solo project of guitarist Alec 'Acle' Kahney. He was soon joined by French vocalist Julien Perier and it wasn't long before he recruited other artists to turn the project into a band. The band's been through many line up changes over the years and it currently consists of Daniel Tompkins (lead vocals), Alec (lead guitar and production), James 'Metal' Monteith (rhythm guitar), Amos Williams (bass, growls, and backing vocals), and Jay Postones (drums and percussion). Their musical style is best described as a blend of progressive metal (a fusion of heavy metal and progressive rock that combines the loud aggression and amplified guitar driven sound of the former with the more experimental, cerebral or pseudo classical compositions of the latter) and djent (a style of progressive metal named for an onomatopoeia for the distinctive high gain, distorted, palm muted, low pitch guitar sound first employed by bands Meshuggah and SikTh). They’ve had a stellar career with 3 studio albums, 1 live album, 1 demo tape, 3 extended plays, 7 singles, 9 music videos, and a Progressive Music Award.
