The Alarm, Wales' sensational alternative rock artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Paradise Rock Club!
The Alarm was formed in Rhyl (Wales) in 1981 by vocalist and guitarist Mike Peters, guitarist Dave Sharp, bassist Eddie MacDonald, and drummer
Nigel Twist. The band's been through a few line up changes since then and it currently consists of Mike (vocals, guitars, and harmonica), James Stevenson (guitar and bass guitar), Craig Adams (bass), Mark Taylor (keyboards), Steve "Smiley" Barnard (drums), and Jules Jones Peters (keyboards). Over the years, their musical style has spanned many genres such as alternative rock (a style of rock music that emerged from the independent music underground of the 1980s and became widely popular in the 1990s), new wave (a genre of rock music that moved away from smooth blues and rock and roll sounds to create pop music that incorporated electronic and experimental music, mod, and disco), college rock (a sub genre of rock - originating in the confluence of new wave, post-punk, and early alternative rock - that dominated college radio playlists throughout the '80s), and dance rock (a genre – originating in the early 1980s, following the mainstream death of punk and disco – related to pop rock and post punk but with fewer rhythm and blues influences). They’ve had a stellar career with 16 studio albums.
