The Lone Bellow, New York’s sensational Americana artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Paradise Rock Club!
The Lone Bellow was formed in Brooklyn in 2011 and is a trio consisting of Zach Williams (guitar and lead vocals), Kanene Donehey Pipkin (mandolin, bass, and vocals), and Brian Elmquist (guitar and vocals). Their musical style is best described as a blend of Americana (contemporary music that incorporates elements of various American roots music styles, including country, blues, roots rock, R&B;, folk, and bluegrass, resulting in a distinctive roots oriented sound), alternative country (a subgenre of country music that incorporates influences ranging from roots rock, bluegrass, rockabilly, honky-tonk, alternative rock, folk rock, and punk rock), and indie folk (a style that arose in the 1990s - among musicians from indie rock scenes influenced by folk music - and is characterized by a blend of acoustic guitar melodies of traditional folk music with contemporary instrumentation). It draws parallels with that of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, the Staples Singers, Houndmouth, and Deer Tick. They’ve had a stellar career with 2 studio albums (one of which hit #64 on the US Billboard 200 chart), 2 singles and they’ve performed at the South by Southwest music festival. They’ve received many accolades including an Americana Music Association Award (for Duo/Group of the Year).
