The Push Stars, Massachusetts’ sensational indie rock artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Paradise Rock Club!
The Push Stars were formed in Cambridge (Massachusetts) in 1996 by Chris Trapper (primary songwriter, vocalist, and guitarist), Dan McLoughlin (bass and keyboards), and Ryan MacMillan (drums). Their musical style can be best described as a blend of indie rock (a genre of alternative rock that originated in the United States and the United Kingdom in the 1980s, encapsulating the genres chamber pop, indie pop, lo fi, math rock, neo psychedelia, post punk revival, sadcore, and shoegazing), pop rock (a genre that originated in the 1950s, influenced by the beat, arrangements, and style of rock and roll but with a greater emphasis on professional songwriting and recording craft), and post grunge (a derivative of grunge music that uses the sounds and aesthetics of grunge, but with a more commercially accessible tone). They’ve had a stellar career with 1 extended play, 4 studio albums, and their music has been featured on the soundtrack of the films There’s Something About Mary, Gun Shy, The Devil Wears Prada, Me, Say It Isn't So, Myself and Irene, and on the sitcom Malcolm in the Middle. Chris also has a successful solo career and has won a SOCAN Award.
Don’t miss your chance to see these artists add a unique touch to indie rock, pop rock, and post grunge!
