Sensational indie rock artists Wavves and Beach Fossils are bringing their signature sounds to the Paradise Rock Club!
Wavves started off San Diego in 2008 as the solo project of singer and songwriter Nathan Williams. He was 21, had just quit his job, and (when not skateboarding and writing for his hip-hop blog, Ghost Ramp) started making music using an '80s Tascam cassette recorder and Garage Band. He’s added various musicians to the project over the years and Wavves currently consists of Nathan (vocals and guitar), Stephen 'Stevie' Pope (bass guitar and backing vocals), Alex Gates (guitar and backing vocals), and Brian Hill (drums and backing vocals). Their musical style is best described as a blend of indie rock (a genre of alternative rock that originated in the United States and the United Kingdom in the 1980s, encapsulating the genres chamber pop, indie pop, lo fi, math rock, neo psychedelia, post punk revival, sadcore, and shoegazing), pop punk (a fusion genre that typically combines fast punk rock tempos, power chord changes and loud, distorted electric guitars with pop influenced melodies and lyrical themes), and surf rock. They’ve had a stellar career with 6 studio albums (3 of which were top 20 hits on Billboard's Alternative Albums chart), 1 extended plays, 1 split album (in collaboration with indie rock band Cloud Nothings) and 21 singles.
Don’t miss your chance to see these artists add a unique touch to indie rock music!
