Whitey Morgan, Michigan's sensational country artist is bringing his signature sounds to the Paradise Rock Club!
Whitey Morgan (birth name Eric Allen) was born in Flint (Michigan) and is a singer, songwriter, and guitarist. He cites Waylon Jennings as one of his main influences and he said in an interview, "I just always dug that sound. Especially Waylon, for me, it was easy to grab onto those half-time grooves, and the more hard-hitting stuff, because I'd come from playing more rock and roll-type things. Learning that and crafting my version of that Seventies sound led me to graduating to [Johnny] Paycheck's style, and Merle [Haggard]'s. Not style exactly, but maybe just their level of musicianship." His musical style is best described as a blend of outlaw country (a subgenre of country music that’s rooted in earlier subgenres like honky tonk and rockabilly and is characterized by a blend of rock and folk rhythms, country instrumentation and introspective lyrics), contemporary country (a subgenre of country music that primarily draws from classic honky tonk, but also boasts all the advantages of updated production techniques and equipment, proving that pure country music can sound authentic yet modern), and neo traditional country (a country music style that emphasizes the instrumental background and a traditional country vocal style). He's had a stellar career with 3 studio albums.
Don't miss your chance to see this artist add a unique touch to country music!
