Yaeji, New York's sensational electronic artist is bringing her signature sounds to the Paradise Rock Club!

Yaeji (birth name Kathy Yaeji Lee) was born in Flushing (Queens, New York) in 1993 and is a DJ, vocalist, and music producer. While her musical style can be broadly classified as electronic, it's best described as a blend of house (an electronic music style that began in Chicago in the early 80, characterized by repetitive 4/4 beats, rhythms mainly provided by drum machines, off-beat hi hat cymbals, and synthesized basslines), left-field house (a genre in which producers tend to ignore at least one major chapter of the traditional deep-house production playbook, whether doing away with the 4/4 rhythmic structure, the need for hand percussion, or the emphasis on the beat), deep house (a sub-genre of house music that originated in the 1980s, initially fusing elements of Chicago house with 1980s jazz funk and touches of soul music), and trap (a sub-genre of Southern hip hop that originated in the 1990s and is characterized by ominous lyrics, heavy kick drums from a Roland TR 808 synthesizer, double time division hi hats, and layered synthesizers). She's had a stellar career with 2 extended plays, 9 singles, 8 music videos, and she's performed at the 2018 Coachella Festival.
