AFI, California’s sensational punk rock and emo artists are bringing their signature sounds to Paradise Rock Club!
The band was formed in Ukiah (California) in 1991 by Davey Havok (vocals), Mark Stopholese (guitar), and Vic Chalker (bass). AFI currently stands for A Fire Inside but band members have stated that it was previously an acronym for ‘Asking for It’ and then ‘Anthems for Insubordinates’. The band’s been through many line up changes and it currently consists of Dave (lead vocals, lyrics), Jade Puget (guitars, keyboard, programming, piano, backing vocals), Hunter Burgan (bass, backing vocals), and Adam Carson (drums, percussion, backing vocals). They’ve had a stellar career with 10 studio albums, 1 live album, 1 compilation album, 1 video album, 14 music videos, 12 extended plays, and 19 singles. Their 2003 album (Sing the Sorrow) was certified Gold in Australia and Platinum in Canada as well as in the US. Their next album (Decemberunderground) went Gold in Australia and Platinum in the US. 7 of their 19 singles landed in the top 20 of Billboard’s Alternative Songs chart (1 of them hitting #1) and their 2006 single (Miss Murder) was certified Gold in the US. Their music has also been featured on many compilation albums such as Punk Nation Unification, Go Ahead Punk... Make My Day, Punk Fiction, Punk You!, Punk Goes Metal, That Darn Punk, Warped Tour 2001 Tour Compilation, Punkzilla, Punk Chunks 2, and many others.
