Busty and The Bass

8th December 2017 - Friday 20:00

Busty and the Bass, Canada’s sensational electrosoul, hip hop, and dance music artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Paradise Rock Club!

Busty and the Bass was formed in Montreal in 2011 and is an ennead consisting of Scott Bevins (trumpet), Mike McCann (trumpet), Chris Vincent (trombone), Nick Ferraro (alto sax, vocals), Louis Stein (guitar), Milo Johnson (bass), Julian Trivers (drums), Eric Haynes (piano, keyboards), and Alistair Blu (keyboards, synths, and vocals). While their musical style can broadly be classified under electrosoul (a subgenre of electronic music that’s influenced by classic rock, blues, hip hop, soul, funk, disco and more, all intricately laced with thudding bass lines and cutting synths), hip hop, and dance, the band is always experimenting with many genres. They said in an interview, “With nine different members, comes nine extremely eclectic musical backgrounds. We look at our group as a melting pot of all this outside influence, one in which we are constantly experimenting and combining unique elements. We are influenced by nearly every genre you could possibly imagine, and when we bring those influences to the group, and are open to the influences of others, you start to see the type of combination that is present in genres that are pushing the envelope today: electrofunk, disco house, etc.”
